Tenaska’s Taylorville Energy Center Legislation On Hold

Posted by

Last week was the end of the spring legislative session in Illinois, and the controversial bill for Tenaska’s Taylorville Energy Center was not called for consideration before the House Public Utilities Committee. The bill called for the development of a costly power plant that would result in consumers and businesses paying substantially higher electricity rates.

The support of our customers, along with the efforts of the STOP Coalition and several other stakeholder groups, was vital to the opposition of the bill and we appreciate the continued support, emails, and outreach to elected officials. We plan to continue to follow the matter closely and will provide updates as needed.
