At Owens Corning’s 3rd annual Global Supplier Recognition event held at Owens Corning’s world headquarters in Toledo, OH, Constellation was honored with the Spirit of Partnership and Sustainability awards.
The annual event, developed to reward Owens Corning’s suppliers who provide exemplary value-added contributions, recognizes suppliers in areas of Safety, Sustainability, Innovation, Value Creation, Risk Mitigation, Spirit of Partnership and the overall Supplier of the Year. Constellation was one of two companies to receive multiple awards this year and is one of 9,000 suppliers to Owens Corning globally.
The Spirit of Partnership is awarded to an Owen’s Corning supplier that demonstrations “new value creation beyond agreed-upon terms and a commitment to sharing resources (people, processes, technology) to create sustainable supply base solutions for our customers.” Constellation and Owens Corning have enjoyed a successful working relationship over the years, which has resulted in energy cost savings and renewable generation for Owens Corning.
Constellation was also honored with a Sustainability award, which recognizes a supplier’s “commitment to adhering to the Owens Corning Supplier Code of Conduct and to improving supply chain collaboration around environmental issues, and encourages the sharing of ideas and capabilities to deliver more sustainable products and services for our customers.” Recently, Constellation was selected to develop a 2.6-megawatt (DC) solar generation project that will supply clean energy to Owens Corning’s thermal and acoustical insulation plant in Delmar, NY. When completed, the solar system will supply more than 6 percent of the plant’s annual electricity needs and support Owens Corning’s 2020 Environmental Footprint Goals for energy use and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
F.A. Ruffer, Constellation’s executive director of National Accounts, said, “Constellation is very proud to receive this distinction and to help support Owens Corning’s energy management and sustainability goals."
