Energy Market Trends Take Center Stage During Last Week’s New Hampshire Energy Summit

Last week, more than 150 customers, policy makers, regulators, suppliers, and trade professionals gathered to discuss the latest energy market trends during the 2012 New Hampshire Energy Summit, sponsored in part by Constellation. The morning-long forum provided an opportunity for business and municipal leaders in New Hampshire (NH) to find out the latest information from suppliers, government leaders, and energy professionals, all outside of the regulated utility business.

Recent Study Shows New England Supports Electricity Choice & Competitive Energy Markets

Last Thursday, the New England Energy Alliance released the results of its annual survey of New England households.  The Alliance is a group of energy companies dedicated to educating and informing policymakers across New England to promote better decision-making. Exelon, Constellation’s parent company, is a Board member of the Alliance. 

Each year the Alliance engages Opinion Dynamics to conduct a telephone survey of New England residents to track their opinions on a range of energy-related issues.  Major findings from this year’s survey include the following:

In the next 2 to 3 days, the Connecticut Legislature is poised to pass a massive energy bill, LCO 4558, that will raise your cost of electricity and affect your future energy choices. The bill was first made public in draft on Tuesday, was negotiated by a small handful of lawmakers behind closed doors, and is being rushed to passage.
