Just minutes before the panel discussion began between leaders from Deutsche Bank, the U.S. Department of Energy, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Bloomberg BNA, and the Institute of Market Information.

Imagine if you went to buy a car and you had no way to know what the mileage, fuel efficiency, or other essential information you would need to know about it. Now, imagine if you were sharing this car with your whole neighborhood. In this situation, the person driving…

Sustainability Topics To Take Center Stage at GreenGov Next Week

Posted by

Now, more than ever, government leaders are looking at ways to reduce energy cost and consumption. It’s been almost three years since President Obama signed Executive Order 13514, directing Federal agencies to meet aggressive sustainability and clean energy goals. But, there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done.

Next week’s GreenGov Symposium in Washington, D.C. will provide an in-depth forum for energy managers of the nation’s leading government, private sector, and non-profit organizations to learn more about their options, including best practices and cutting-edge approaches.

Time is running out for government agencies to determine whether year-end mandates and sustainability goals can be reached for FY 2012. The most distinctive part of the seminar, hosted by Lockheed Martin at their Global Vision Center, was the comprehensive point of…

Community leaders often face a variety of challenges including energy costs, which can be among the top expenses. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that energy costs involve more than just price. Energy costs are essentially the price for electricity and natural gas multiplied by the quantity of energy used over a given period time. The simple equation looks like this: Cost = Price x Quantity/Time.

Now, some leaders may think it’s too challenging to implement energy efficiency projects

Funding Energy Efficiency Projects Can Be Easy

Posted by

Many businesses and organizations that are interested in energy efficiency may find it challenging to finance projects that could help them better manage their energy costs. The challenges are very real, internal barriers, lack of specialized knowledge and confidence in available option as well as economic pressures, can make it difficult to meet mandates and make an impact.

An article recently published on sustainableplant.com titled “The Energy Performance Contract: It’s Better Than Doing Nothing” made some interesting points about how Energy Performance Contracts, which require…
