Constellation Awards 2012 EcoStar Grant Winners

Over the last two years, Constellation Energy, an Exelon company, has been proud to offer the EcoStar grants initiative. The past two years have supported a combined total of 147 different EcoStar projects across 20 states! EcoStar grants support projects that fit into one or more of five stewardship categories: pollution prevention, education and outreach, energy efficiency, conservation and community activism.

In 2012, 93 EcoStar award winners will receive a total of $471,662 across 22 states where Constellation Energy does business.  These grants will support several environmental initiatives in local commununities.  The EcoStar projects will help to maintain…

Proposals for E2 Energy to Educate Grants Due Oct. 1

Just a little more than two days left! Constellation is accepting proposals through Oct. 1 for the 2011 E2 Energy to Educate Grant Awards.

E2 Energy to Educate Grants are awarded to projects that reach and inspire students to think differently about energy, and that align with at least one of three focus areas:

– the basic science and engineering needed to address energy challenges;
– new energy technologies entering the marketplace;
– and the expanding role of information technology in how we efficiently manage and use energy.

CA Solar Power Project Gets $1.2 Billion Loan

Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) is undergoing something of a renaissance in the solar-rich areas of the world, especially Spain and the Southwestern U.S.  The Department of Energy secured a $1.2 billion loan for the Mojave Solar concentrated solar power (CSP) project.  The facility will supply 250MW and is sponsored by Abengoa Solar, a leading developer of solar power based in Spain.  The plant will be built in San Bernardino County, CA.

The deadline for 2011 EcoStar Grant applications closes on March 10, 2011, which is only days away. If you’re still wondering whether your nonprofit organization would qualify for an EcoStar grant of up to $5,000 for implementing an environmental stewardship projects, see below for more details about how the program has helped organizations throughout the nation since it was established in 2010.

Nonprofit Customers: Apply to Receive an EcoStar Grant from Constellation Energy

Constellation Energy is accepting applications for its annual EcoStar Grants program, which provides qualifying nonprofit organizations with funds to implement environmental stewardship projects. The awards will be up to $5,000. In 2010, Constellation awarded 62 EcoStar grants in 14 states where Constellation Energy does business for community-based projects focused on pollution prevention, education and outreach, energy efficiency, conservation and community activism.

Education & Nonprofit Customers: Nov. 1 Deadline Approaching for E2 Grant Program

Last month, we announced that Constellation Energy is taking applications for our new E2: Energy to EducateSM Grant program (“E2 Grants”), which will provide funding for projects that enhance student understanding of science and technology needed to address energy issues. Funds will be provided by the Constellation Energy Foundation, and the awards will be up to $25,000 for projects involving students in grades six through 12 and up to $50,000 for projects at two- and four-year colleges.
