A couple of weeks ago we were honored to meet with more than 40 members of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association at Halas Hall, the Chicago Bears headquarters, to discuss energy management topics impacting businesses today. The Exclusive Energy Forum provided an opportunity for us to connect two stakeholder groups that we take great pride in serving comprehensive energy supply solutions to — leaders within the local manufacturing industry and the Chicago Bears.
Bringing together the two was a natural fit because environmental and energy efficiency initiatives are highly valued across the board. We provide IMA members with renewable energy and energy efficiency options and our friends at the Chicago Bears were recently recognized from the U.S. Green Building Council for having the first professional football stadium achieve LEED status in the nation.
We know that environmental stewardship is important to the Bears and we are proud to work with them on a variety of initiatives to help them achieve their environmental goals. As a proud partner of the Bears’ “Save Da Planet” initiative, we purchased renewable energy certificates to help avoid about 42 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions during their first “Environmental Friendly Game” shortly before Thanksgiving. We’re also serving as the energy provider to Halas Hall, which is home to the Bears’ front office and practice facilities.
LEED Certification at Soldier Field is another example of how the Bears lead teams nationwide; successfully pursuing and implementing environmental programs. They are joined by other local teams in Chicago who we are proud to work with in a similar capacity. Watch this short video for more details:
