Six years ago Cumberland County entered an energy performance contract with Constellation, which included a series of energy efficiency measures including installing energy efficient lighting and lighting controls, expanding its energy management system, replacing heat pumps with Energy Star rated units, and more. In 2008, the county expanded the project to include the implementation of an additional $2.2 million in energy efficiency measures through the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.
